SPICE on Fedora Core 3

I have been trying repeadidly with no luck to install spice3f5 on Fedora Core 3, i seem to find installation instructions on many distributions even rpms for SUSE and other distributions but i havnt found rpms or instructions on how to install SPICE on Fedora because installing using the instructions i found so far do not work. Has anyone successfully installed SPICE on Fedora Core 3?

I am a Computer Engineering student and i need to run pspice next semester and i wanted to know if spice was the same thing but for Linux? and im going to try and get magic running but had problesm with version 7.1 because of gcc-3.

Is the problem because Core 3 uses gcc-3 ? i was told that this gcc version will break most programs on the install.

HELLO.

I FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM. TRY USING NGSPICE, IS THE SAME THING. THIS PROGRAM WORKS, I AM DOING MY PhD THESIS USING IT. YOU CAN FIND IT HERE

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ngspice

I RECOMMEND YOU TO DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION, UNCOMPRESS IT AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.

HOPE YOU FIND THIS USEFUL.

i just found out i have termcap under /usr/include/ncurses so what i did was create a symbolic link in /usr/include. Running it now too bad it takes eternity to compile. I am trying the geda installer that compiles all gEDA tools at once plus ngspice and other sw too. What sw are you using for netlist extraction and schematic design? Are you using bsim3 models? For what process? Thanks for your help.

FOR NETLIST EXTRACTION AND SCHEMATIC DESIGN SOMETIMES I USE APLAC. AT HOME USE THE STUDENT EDITION AND AT THE INSTITUTE USE THE COMPLETE EDITION. BESIDES NGSPICE I ALSO USE HSPICE.

MY PHD THESIS IS ABOUT A TOOL FOR AMPLIFIER DESIGN BASED ON NULLOR. THE WORK FOR THIS STAGE IS BASED ON BIPOLAR TRANSISTORS AND FURTHERMORE TAKE IT TO MOSFETS, IF I HAVE TIME.

I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A LINUX VERSION OF CADENCE BUT I HAVE NOT TESTED YET.

HOPE THIS INFO WILL BE USEFUL AND DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK IF YOU NEED TO.

Can any of you extract good pictures from nutmeg? I run my spice simulation on fedora and then i need to add my results to my text but i just dont get good quality output... I am using screencapture and then i convert the file to EPS and edit it at GIMP but so far my frequency responses are aweful because the line colour is almost as white as the background. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Btw, Magic compiles at Fedora 3. Just get the correct source because some dont compile at all. Get the latest version... the one that is under development.
