Sound Issues - Only one program can use sound at a time
It seems that only one program can use the sound driver at a time. If I am playing my music, the Gaim sounds won't work. When I pause the music, all the Gaim sounds play all in a row like my system can't play two sounds at the same time. This still happens even if I try to change the audio subsystem that Gaim uses to play sounds. This happens with other programs that use audio too.
I'm using Fedora Core 3, but I remember this happening with Mandrake 10.0 too. My computer is a Powerspec 9341, and uses intergrated SoundMAX audio. Any ideas? Thank you. |
you need to enable the "fullduplex" feature, ALSA should do this for you, but you may have to add some lines to your /etc/modules.conf file.............
