Sound issues

Ok I installed fedora core 2 a few days ago and updated after install then installed the mp3 plugin for xmms with up2date and everything worked fine. I ran into some problems with booting my win hdd ... well im not gonna get into what i did but I reinstalled fedora core 2 and after doing the same thing as before cd's will not play even with mp3 plugin. The sound works for gaim which is confusing to me im not sure what the problem is.

k..

For starters, the mp3 pluging isn't needed to play CDs. Secondly, have you mounted your CD rom to play the CDs? Will mp3s play?

The real solution is to not use crap linux. Fedora sucks IMO. Get slackware 10.

Okay, sorry.. anyway. Please tell me more information about your problem and what you're trying to do.
