Sound card and Video resolution
Hello,
I have my Dell XPS M140 and having a dual boot in it --- Win XP SP2 and Fedora Core 5 Linux. Questions: 1. How can I make my sound card work on FC5? (or FC7 if I can migrate to it without problem) 2. When I'm in Windows environment, my screen can be configured up to 1024X768 and it seems when Im in FC5 environment, I can only do up t0 800X640 to the same screen resolution. What drivers or sort of things I can do to make my screen more densier in linux mode. Thanks, tabs |
Hi
For the sound card, if the alsa-driver is already installed, the volume is usually muted by default. Try Code:
$ alsamixer If the driver is not installed yet, you can get it at http://www.alsa-project.org along with instructions for your card. For the screen resolution, it would be helpful if you posted the content of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Cheers |
Thanks. I have installed fc7 and it looks like this is already taken cared by fc7.
