some new user questions...

first of all i would like to appologise if any of these questions have been asked before, i did however search and could not find the answers.

Anyway here are my questions:

a) Is there anyway to auto logon in kde when fedora starts up?
b) how do i get my ati radeon 9600pro card working properly (i tried myself but whole of linux froze and i had to reinstall )
c) im using the very very latest fedora core thingy, and sometimes it seems unresponsive and sort of freezes, is it somthing im doing as a new user to cause this or is it just because it is the latest unstable release?

thanks in advanced

scott

I have also a 9600 pro card , u just download the latest driver from ati and install it
then :

cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod
./make.sh
cd /lib/modules/fglrx
./make_install.sh
fglrxconfig

After completing your X configuration using fglrxconfig, press CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to restart X.

The Fedora unstable releases are very unstable. Your best bet If you want "unstable" Mandrake Cooker. Fedora has a good development section so you might want to wait a few days and see if it is fixed.

P.S You might want to e-mail the fedora development team about all your problems because they are the ones who can change things

[scott@localhost scott]$ cd /home/scott
[scott@localhost scott]$ rpm -ivh fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.7.0.i386.rpm
/etc/security/selinux/src/policy/file_contexts/file_contexts: No such file or directory
error: cannot get exclusive lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1)
error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm

Run rpm --force -ivh fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.7.0.i386.rpm
This will overwrite these conflicting files
the --force is the overwriting part of this command
