Upgrading from F14 to F15 either by DVD or preupgrade crashes the system due to some apparently well-known bugs (like openjpeg-devel not being found or being corrupt in preupgrade, kernel panics and modprobe issues with the installation DVD, etc). So, no gnome3 for F14 users?

Although preupgrade is the recommended method to upgrade, I have had success with a direct upgrade using yum via distro-sync.

seeing as gnome 3 is a MAJOR version change .
NO ,it will never be put in fedora 14 before it hits it's End Of Life in 5 to 6 months .

If you want Gnome 3 then do a clean new install of fedora 15

Fc14 & gs3

I downloaded gnome 3 and installed from a site called IceWalkers... well I feel kinda lucky cause I'm not thrilled with it.
Luckily on reboot I got to downgrade it so it's kinda of a cross between 3 and 2.. doesn't matter too much as I have to reload the box anyway. I felt pretty relieved when I got my desktop back but I miss my panels and their little but so useful apps.
As a matter of fact Gnome 3 is like a perfect desktop for a office , yes you can really restrict the heck out what a worker bee can do... and you got that big clock top center just to keep reminding you of how long you have left to get job done :P it's funny how they (Gnome) keep saying how they don't want you distracted and you can get more done...but wait isn't Fedora Core for like home users..dont they have red hat (enterprise) for that ?

So you can downgrade back to G2 but there is some stuff left behind that puts it in a twilight zone between 2 and 3? Woah. Seriously?
