Slow keystroke response

Hi folks,

FC3

This problem "slow response on keystroke" only happened lately and on user KDE desktop only. Root KDE/GNOME desktop and user GNOME desktop all have no problem. On user KDE desktop on all applications I have to press and hold each key a while before it works/responses.

Please advise where I have to check. TIA

I dealt with this recently.

Look in the KDE Control Center, under Regional & Accessiblity, then Accessibility, then Keyboard.

See if either Slow Keys or Sticky Keys are enabled; they shouldn't be for normal use.

I found that if you hold down the Shift key for more than 8 seconds, you'll get a dialog box asking if you want to enable Slow Keys. If you happen to hit just Enter, that will ENABLE slow keys. Pressing Shift for another 8 seconds will give you an opportunity to disable it. (as opposed to having to go through the Control Center).

Hope this helps.

Hi w6bi,

Tks for your advice. Problem solved now.

The right-shift key of my keyboard did not return occasionally after hitting it. Maybe I activated the slow-key un-noticed.
