Should Fedora 12 work with my new hardware?

I have been using Fedora 12 for some time on a computer which I used to make Audio Recordings. Everything worked fine - except the Motherboard died. I now have a new Motherboard and I must re-install the OS. If possible, I would like to continue to use Fedora 12 - but when I try to install it rapidly gives me a black screen with no activity apparent.

The new MB is a G41M-VS3 from ASRock. The BIOS is American Megatrends, version P1.60

The reason I would like to stick with Fedora 12 is that the software I use to record is streamer (comes with xawtv) and that likes the ALSA mode of recording. I have tried to use streamer on a later version of Fedora (13), but it could not see the audio device.

Is there anywhere where I can check what hardware different versions support?

Do not even THINK of using a DEAD and UNSUPPORTED version of fedora
Fedora 12 is WAY PAST it's END OF LIFE
it is DEAD

please stay current and use Fedora 17
then in December install Fedora 18

for a media server you would be WAY better off using
CentOS 6.3
centOS 6 has a 7 year life span VS. the 13 month life span of fedora
