Severe screen flashing in Fedora 19

Just installed fedora 19 on an hp g50-109nr laptop. It will run okay for about a minute or two but then the screen flickers a lot. Its not just a little bit its like barely usable. Laptop has an nvidia geforce 8200M G graphics card. Do i need to install the nvidia drivers to fix this? Is there a good guide for this i can follow? Or is the problem something else?

Try upgrading to the latest kernel (the latest I have on F19 is kernel-3.11.1-200). The onboard Nvidia 9100 graphics in my HP sc3707c and the nouveau driver in the earlier F19 kernels did not play nicely together. However, the nouveau driver in the 3.11 kernels seems to work just fine.
