Setting resolution to 1024x768

FC12-x86_64/KDE
I want to set my resolution to 1024x768 using Intel Video adapter using the the i915 kernel module.

Putting the line below in /boot/grub/menu.lst on the kernel line after

rhgb quiet i915.modeset=1 vga=318

Is this the correct setting ?

I don't want to use a xorg.conf file.

For me "vga=318" did not work. Grub ask to choose resolution. But vga=792 works.
