service xyz start instead of /etc/init.d/xyz start
How in fedora do you enable the
service xyz start rather then going via /etc/init.d I updated MySQL on a FC3 system following this guide: http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?t=55335 That all works but I still can only start via /etc/init.d Thanks, |
Are you getting an error when using the service command? If so, copy/paste it so we can see what is happening.

No error no, it just doesn't let me use the service command
# service mysqld status Usage: /etc/init.d/mysqld start|stop|restart |
That just says that the "status" option is not supported by the script.
