Segmentation error while updating openoffice

Hello,

Today I tried to update my openoffice verion on my Fedora Core 4 computer using yum.

My commandline input: yum update openoffice.org-math

After this it find some packages which also needs to be updated (this is good), but while updating I get the following error.

Downloading Packages:
(1/3): openoffice.org-cor 18% |==== | 7.7 MB 07:13 ETA Segmentation error

(translated to English).

Does anyone know how I can overcome this segmentation error? Thanks in advantage.

Just to ask the obvious, you have tried this more than once and it always fails with the same error?

Yes. It also the openoffice.org-core package. I even tried it on differend networks (wired and wireless).

I last tried to update (whith yum) only the core package which also gives a segmentation error.

The exact percentage it is giving the segmentation error is always about 20 % (had 18 % shown here and 22 % on an other try).

Why not just download and install the updates the old fashioned way...

Get the list of the installed packages you want to update, from the console or xterm session type something like; rpm -qa 'openoffice.org*' | sort

Then visit the Fedora Core download page (or one of the mirrors) and download the updates needed;

ftp://ftp.quicknet.nl/pub/Linux/down....com/updates/4

When done as root install them all at once; rpm -Uvh openoffice.org*.rpm
