Screen size in Fedora core 2
Hi
I'm having problems with a Gnome program that sets the screen size and resolution. Although I have set up my monitor an graphics card correctly, this utility seems to take president an is only offering me 640x480! Any way I can persuade it I have a monitor capable of much more? |
check out /etc/X11/XF86Config and scroll down until you'll see the uncommented lines that define your screen....it should be easy to understand the resolution line. just see that the first entry in it is something like "1024x768" or what you want :)
that is, if the problem is there... |
actually you should rename the XF86config and use xorg.conf... since fedora uses the xorg-x11 system.

Thanks for the replies. I have checked out the X11config file which appears to be in order. Nothing I put in there seems to have any effect. I guess that points to the xorg file. What should I rename the X11CONFIG file to ? I don't quite understand.
Thanks |
I've left the X11config alone but I've edited the xorg.conf with the resolutions that I want and its worked. Thanks for that. On a side note I'm having probs with VI in Fedora core 2. I normally press i to insert text, but its not working?

aid...
Thanks for these posts they were helpful. Try hitting the insert key instead of 'i' for VI. That seems to be working for me. I can't wait to get into core 2... |
