screen goes to power save mode in X

I just installed fc3 and am having an odd issue with X, when the pc boots to init-5 my screen goes blank. I have fixed the inittab file so i boot to level 3. But the same thing happens when i run "system-config-display". FC3 is properly identifing the chip as a intel810. It is an integrated video card. Is there another driver i should use? thanks.

FIXED--used another monitor to set the model of my primary one instead of use the generic setting i chose durring installation. Yet one more example of how laziness causes much work and embarassment
