I have a server at home that has many MP3's and some videos and other multimedia ...

This PC that host all these files is a Windows 2000 advanced server SP4 NTFS and any windows machine on my LAN can connect by typing in \\mail\multimedia.

My question is there a some what easy way to access this drive from my Linux box running Fedora Core 2?

I did a search and it looks like I need this program or tool called Samba but the set up guides are a bit beyond my newbish understanding.

Does Fedora Support Linux/Windows file transfer and is there an eeasy way to do this or must I use this Samba util?

Your fedore core has built in Samba 3 which is Cool

Just open a console type ntsysv and select smb there.

This is for starting samba as linux starts

Also type
service smb start

to start your samba server.The default config will do.
Then browse the network from Linux Pc as if from a windows PC.

Also you can use http://<yourip>:903 in your linux browser
for graphical administration of samba

Note:Just to transfer files use ws-ftp in windows.[download it its a freeware]
