I've got dell laptop with XP and Fedora in the same HDD.First installed XP and then Fedora Core 1.I used Partit. Magic 8 to redimension XP,deleting Linux..The process failed and I cant boot XP, even using its installion cd.Now,I've got 32Gb where Xp's and 19GB where I reinstalled Fedora which works fine.I select DOS in the GRUB menu but I've got that error (rootnoverify (hda0,1) chainloader +1 ERROR)..and still cant run XP cd..I modified grub.conf unsuccessfully..
I really need to boot this bloddy XP..Any help would be really appreciated..
Your post is a bit confusing. If I'm reading it correctly, you used PartitionMagic to try and erase the Fedora Core partition and it failed? Since then, you can't boot Windows, but you can boot into Fedora Core? Is that right? Were you ever able to boot into Windows before you tried to delete the Linux partition?
From your error message, it looks like you should be able to boot into Windows simply by changing "rootnoverify (hda0,1)" to "rootnoverify (hd0,1)" (get rid of the extra "a"). This assumes that WindowsXP is on the second partition (/dev/hda2).
Thank you for your answer mate..Unfortunately,it didnt work.Sorry if my post was a bit confusing, what i meant was that I installe firstly XP and after I installed Fedora. Then I decided to resize XP so I did using P.Magic_8.The process failed (my laptop go stuck) and after re-start I couldn't boot XP(even using its installation cd) neither Fedora. The HDD then had the XP partition (32GB) and Fedora's partition(19GB)..What I did then it was to reinstall Fedora using the 19GB..and it worked!!..but I still cant boot the bloddy XP.
