I have an external HDD with an encrypted partition. I'm switching from Fedora to CentOS and in the process I do not want to lose the data on the encrypted partition.
I'm pretty sure it's just to reformat and mount the encrypted volume again on the new disk, but is there anything I need to do in order to recreate the /dev/mapper system files or similar?
Anything special to watch out for?
The entry in the current fstab is as follows:
/dev/mapper/luks-131d2fab-xxxx-yyyy-zzzz-ff3af1313925 /export/secure ext4 no
auto 1 2
The partition in question is /dev/sdb2 which is FStype crypto_LUKS.
How do I recreate this /dev/mapper/luks-* in CentOS?
What do I need to beware of in order not to lose important data?
