Resizing a Fedora Partition
Hello,
I need to resize a partition since I didn't allocate enough memory for my root partition (it was enough for the install, but not enough for the addons). I've tried parted, but it doesn't support Fedora's specific ext3 filesystem and I don't think fdisk can resize a partition. Since FC2, Partition Magic hasn't been able to do anything to the Linux partitions. The installer partitioner might work, but I don't know how to run in now that I've installed. Any help would be great. |
If you haven't done anything significant.. I guess reinstall will be the best method .. and it won't take look rather than scratching your head trying to get those thing to work (and at the end, thrashing your HD too.. )..

Thanks for you reply.
Don't you think there should be a much easier way though? Surely there is some sort of partitioning software out there that can deal with this. Is disk druid available on the rescue disk? Thanks again. |
u could try partimage
unsure if it will do the job but its very partition magic like to use try here http://tinyurl.com/5jxkk |
If you have to re-install, try making the partion an LVM volume that way you can always resize the the partion later.
You can use the LVM cli or install EVMS if you want a GUI. Cheers Aaron |
