resize efi question [/boot/efi] with boot flag gparted

Hi-

I am reading you can copy files from efi partition to another location.
If you already have a win10 pc and the partition isn't large enough (100 mb for dual boot instead of 550 mb), where does windows keep the files to copy for backup? Would you back up efi partition in windows before fooling with gparted? I wish windows 10 just made the efi partition default larger.

thanks for any advice -

Hi again-

That is relatively easy. I watched a youtube video on how to back up boot files for win 10 and restore.
That is how I will proceed. Backup to usb drive and then go ahead with trying to resize in gparted. The link is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKHiKkJ3DmQ

Is that an okay way to approach this?

thx. - mtdew3q

hi -

better yet.... I bet if you have a backup of efi files on win10 you may just choose to delete and create new efi partition and if anything goes wrong you can always restore....right?

thx.

Yes, I would be inclined to create a new one and copy over - make sure it is an EFI system partition, and make sure there is only one such (delete the old one after backup).
