refersh rate change from 60 to 85 HZ


refresh rate change from 60 to 85 hz automatically. when i boot system sometime it takes refresh rate 85 hz instead of 60 hz. when it takes 85 tehn desktop doesn't fit into screen area. resolution 24 bit mode 1024*768

the higher the HZ the less the flicker, however perhaps your monitor is rejecting it? what do you have the actual settings to be?

My actual seting is 24 bit, 1024*768 at 60 hz

Check /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Look for something like this:

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "LCD Panel 1400x1050"
HorizSync 31.5 - 90.0
VertRefresh 59.0 - 75.0
Option "dpms"
EndSection

VertRefresh is your refresh rate, it can be a range or a value. So if you want 60 change it to:

VertRefresh 60.0
