recompiling freetype

How to recompile freetype with bytecode interpreter enabled?
Is there a howto or already compiled rpm?

Well, I have solved this one myself. In the way I did in mandrake 9.1.

get Penguin Liberation Front RPM
freetype2-2.1.3-12plf.i586.rpm
and as root copy files from it into /usr/lib
do not "rpm -i" as system will try to uninstall everyting else.

in usr/lib remove symlink libfreetype.so.6
rename libfreetype.so.6.3.2 to libfreetype.so.6.3.3
create symlink libfreetype.so.6 to libfreetype.so.6.3.3

logout and login

Your Verdana will not be blurry anymore!

also, I have created fancy /etc/fonts/local.conf to turn on AA only for small, big and italic letters:

<!-- Turn off antialiasing for roman fonts in the 9-14 pt. range -->
<match target="font">
<test qual="all" name="size" compare="more">
<int>8</int>
</test>
<test qual="all" name="size" compare="less">
<int>14</int>
</test>
<test qual="all" name="slant" compare="eq">
<const>roman</const>
</test>

<edit name="antialias" mode="assign">
<bool>false</bool>
</edit>
</match>
