Real Beginning... How do I burn Fedora files onto CD?

When it comes OS's I have always been a "buy-the-disk-already-copied" type of person. This time I decided to download the ISO's. This is what I did:

I went into the RH website and found a mirror that was pretty fast. Using Windows XP Pro, I downloaded "yarrow-i386-disc?.iso" (all 3 discs) into a folder in C:\ called Fedora 1. Thus, I ended up with 3 files. Then, using the Roxio program that is included within XP, I proceeded to copy each of the ISO files onto a separate CD-R.

I already have RH 9 on my system within my extended partition (it works fine), and have already set aside HD space for Fedora. When I rebooted my system and left Disc 1 in the drive, it did not boot up. All that I can see on the CD-R (Disc 1) now is the ISO file "yarrow-i386-disc1.iso. Now, folks, this is my first time doing things this way so pardon my ignorance--wherever that might have played a role.

What did I do wrong here, and how can I correct it? Perhaps my weakness is in the copying process, or perhaps it is more pervasive. At this point I don't know enough to know.

Your advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

You burned the file as a data file. When you burn the ISO, burn it has a harddrive image. That will unpack the iso onto the CD.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Then, I believe that my shortcoming is copying (at least for now).

Could you please show me how to do that? I really don't know. How do I burn the ISO as a Harddrive Image?
Thanks again.
