Reading my DVD's?

When I throw DVD's into my Fedora 4 machine, I get an auto DVD icon on the desktop but when I double click the icon to browse the files, I can't find anything. It looks to be blank for some reason.

http://forums.fedoraforum.org/attach...achmentid=5453

Can someone tell me what the command it to access this DVD drive via CLI?

I searched my system and I seem to have:

cdrom | cdrom1 | cdrecorder | cdrecorder1

I only have to IDE optical drives on this system. Once is a DVD burner and the other is a CD burner/DVD reader.

Please help.

What do you have in the /mnt directory? One of those names will be your dvd player/recorder. You will then need to do "mount /mnt/xxxxx" where xxxxx is the name of your player/recorder.

When I do the following I see nothing...

Code:
[carlos@linux ~]$ cd /mnt
[carlos@linux mnt]$ ls
[carlos@linux mnt]$
Does not appear to have anything listed...

Hi, the new FHS compliance specifies devices to be mounted under /media and not /mnt anymore. I gather you have:

Quote:
/media/cdrom
/media/cdrom1
/media/cdrecorder
/media/cdrecorder1
?

Show me your /etc/fstab please.

Well since you didn't listen... That command just solves your problem temporarilly, after a reboot it won't be back to normal As I said, share your /etc/fstab so you can solve the problem automatically.
