sounds to me like a problem with the winxp machine.
rdesktop connects to remote client on port 3389.
i think firstly, we have to find out if the problem is the windowsxp machine or the fc11 machine. it could be either.
things to check when the rdp connection fails:
1. can you telnet to winxp 3389
2. nmap -p 3389 winxp
3. tracepath winxp/3389
4. check logs in /var/log/samba/
5. smbstatus
let us know the results...
