Raw devices in Fedora 4

Hi,

I just installed fedora 4 to experiment with Oracle. I'm a linux beginner. Everything went right. But now i want to use ASM from Oracle. To use ASM i can use the ASMlib from Oracle. But these are not certified for Oracle (Redhat is, fedora is not). i tried compiling the OSS version of ASM. That didn't work eihter, so my last option is the use of raw devices.

But is seems, that raw devices are not default in fedora (or linux 2.6). Is this true ? Does anybody know how to activate it ?

Thanks

This is not related to your question, but Fedora Core is essentially RedHat. Why does it matter if it is certified or not?
