ralink DWA-125 / wireless configuration Fedora 14 LXDE
Hello,
Complete noob for Fedora. Need to set up the wireless on a family member's computer that has Fedora 14 installed, with LXDE. lsusb shows that the device (described in title) is detected, and that is about as far as I get. There does not appear to be any wireless controller installed, as there is no "enable wireless" option on the network connection icon (right click).
Now, some time ago I had a similar problem with Ubuntu 10.04, but solved it by downloading an rt2870 driver source, making and installing it. It also involved blaclisting rt2800usb in blacklist.conf, which I did also for this fedora installation.
I also notice that in /lib/firmware there appears to be an rt2870 binary already. the problem seems to be the lack of an interface for configuring the wireless network itself. Now, being a Debian XFCE user normally, I toyed with installing the Fedora(14) version of Wicd, but I am plauged with doubts, now.
Any ideas what I can do, please? As minimal as possible would be good, and would appreciate also a guide on configuring the thing manually, as in what do I download and install and what files would I have to edit to get this device working properly?
Thanks in advance...
