Question on removing redhat-config-packages

I have read the sticky message on updating the redhat-config-packages to read your fedora directory on the cd, but when I try to install the rpm it says that redhat-config-packages is needed and I need to unselect if first. How can I stop that so I can update my fedora? Thanks

I did it in the console too and tried to remove the old redhat-config-package but it is needed by this program : firstboot-1.2.4-1

sorry for wasting anyones time, I just realized that I need to do an update, not a remove or install and it worked fine. Thanks.
