qmail trouble with fedora!

hi,

i tried to install qmail on fedora.. i also installed ucspi-tcp, vpopmail, ezmlm with glibc and idx patch, qmailadmin and sqwebmail.. but when i try to send email.. it fails.. i checked the log file.. it says

@400000004020fefb1370863c /var/qmail/bin/qmail-smtpd: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory

where s the problem? please help

I've never seen this error before but after a bit of googling it looks like increasing your smtp softlimit will solve your problem.

how do i do that?
by the way, when i installed qmail on standart fedora kernel, i got same error for pop3 access. i compiled 2.6.1 on same system. after that i didnt get any error for pop3.. it works
must i do "rm -rf /" ? :)

do u know a how-to qmail for fedora ? so i wont brother u

thanks

I think you should increase the argument of the softlimit from 2000 to 3000 or 4000 in your instalation scritp.

Take a look at LWQ:
http://www.lifewithqmail.org

The startup scripts for the smtp server should have the argument as stradivarius said.

Check out these...

I found these sites on Qmail. www.askdavis.com/qmail-toaster and www.qmailrocks.org
Qmailrocks is quite difficult to follow but has all the bells and whistles.

Go to qmailrocks.org. Flip thru the install under Fedora. There is a section that shows you how to increase the softlimit, I know without that increase, it wont work. I did 2 installs thru this site on RH9 and it worked out well.:)

i have downloaded src.rpm packets from www.qmailtoaster.com
and rebuild them with --with fdr10 option.. then i installed them from rpm packets.. but it still doesnt work. i think there s problem with my fedora CDs..
i installed fedora 3 times to install qmail.. it didnt work.. it works on rh9..
i will download fedora iso's again.

thanks to all
