Thumbs down Problems with shutdown ?

I have a problem with a server (Fedora 4). I try too reboot or shutdown de server but nothing happends.

If I try:
#shutdown -h now

I would get this message:

Broadcast message from root (pts/0) (Wed Apr 12 22:25:47 2006):

The system is going down for system halt NOW!

As normal, but nothing happends. I had try with init 0 but nothing. Any Idea of what could be the problem? It was working find, suddenly one day a friend call me and told me this problem.

Thanks for your help

It seems like it could be a problem with acpi. Are you using your own kernel or the Fedora Core kernel? If using your own kernel, recompile and enable acpi. If using the Fedora Core kernel, try adding "acpi=on" to the Fedora Core kernel section in /boot/grub/grub.conf.
