Problems with Fedora Core 2 + kernel-2.6.6-1.435 + ATI Radeon 9600

Hello everyone, I am having difficulties installing the fglrx-4.3.0-3.9.0.i386.rpm for use on my Fedora Core 2 system with an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card. I am using kernel-2.6.6-1.435. After installing the RPM, I went to the /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir to execute './make.sh'. When executing the command, I recieved this output:

XFree86 drm includes at /lib/modules/2.6.6-1.435/build/include/../drivers/char/drm do not fit this driver.
This driver is designed to only work with X4.1.0 or higher.
You can match this by getting Linux kernel 2.4.8 or higher.

Obviously, I have X4.3.0 with Fedore Core 2, and I am running a 4.6.6 kernel. Could anyone please offer advice as to what I need to do to successfully install the drivers?

Thank you,
Jason Atkins

Sorry, the ati drivers don't support fedora 2. Fedora 2 uses xorg, not Xfree86, which means, no matter what you do, the drivers do not work. You can get 2d acceleration, but until Ati comes out with new drivers your card will be practically USELESS. I know, I have fedora 2 and an Ati Radeon 9600 Pro. God I wish I could ude Nvidia's drivers.

patch for driver

I haven't tried this yet, but it looks like someone went to the trouble of patching the 3.9.0 driver so it will compile on FC2:
