Problems starting NetworkManager

Hi.
In ServerSettings I added so that NetworkManager and NetworkManagerDispatcher would start automatically. Everything was working for a while. Then one fine day NetworkManger would not start. When I go to ServerSettings I see that it is stopped, but pid is still available. When I restart it through that interface. It will say it was successfully started then it will stop immediatly. Strange thing if I start it through the terminal as root it works just fine. Any ideas what is going on?
I have to enter root password to open ServerSetings, so I'm assuming it has root privildges to run the processes.
