Problems compiling lirc under FC2

I've got some problems compiling lirc-0.6.6 under FC2.

Setup script sounds to performe correctly but "make" gives me this output

[root@localhost lirc-0.6.6]# make
cd . \
&& CONFIG_FILES= CONFIG_HEADERS=config.h \
/bin/sh ./config.status
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: config.h is unchanged

You will have to use the lirc_serial kernel module.

Now enter 'make' and 'make install' to compile and install the package.
