Hi supreedkumar,

I have Fedora 9 installed and can confirm that the MySQL root account still doesn't have a password after a fresh install. What happens when you just hit enter?

Hi,

I am also facing same problem in Fedora 9 fresh installation. I could not login in mysql. I have started mysqld service, but when I want to start mysql from command line firsttime, it is displaying a message that mysql access denied using password like that.

Please anybody help me by telling how to start mysql client first time. I am using mysql in Fedora 7 and 3 also, but never it gives this type of problem, I could not start mysql command line.
