problem in automounting the DVD
Hi Everyone,
I have Fedora Core 6 Installed on my Dell Inspiron 1300. When I insert a CD in my combo drive, I get it mounted and I can access it direct from the desktop icon. But when I insert a DVD in the combo drive, it doesn't get automounted. I have to switch to root and have to manualy mount it to some directory. can anybody help me in getting the dvd automounted when I insert it into the combo drive. Thanks in advance |

Hi Simon,
Thanks for the information, but that is all about how to autoplay the dvd tracks. i just want to open dvd in a folder not mplayer to play a track. for cd i get a folder created like /media/<cd_name>/ or something like this. similarly I want the dvd to be mounted in /media/<dvd_name>/, so that I can access it from there. even if I insert the FC6 installation dvd, it doen't work. I have to mount it manualy, then only I can install anything from that. Thanks |

Hmmm... what happens if you do insert a blank DVD? |
Hi Simon,
I use KDE on my system and there is no preferences menu there. How to do it in KDE? Thanks |
You use the control center.
