printer driver selection

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I am using FC4, and went under preferences to printing and cannot find gutenprint-5.0.0-rc1
as a choice for a printer driver for my Epson R200 printer ( I compiled the software). How do I make the driver show up as a choice for my printer ? Thanks Joe47

Have you read the release notes:
http://sourceforge.net/project/shown...ease_id=353609

list the drivers available for your printer.

how did you compile this?

I'm having exactly the same issue.

I installed gutenprint like this:
[root@fdc-l020 gutenprint-5.0.0-rc1]# ./configure && echo CONFIGOOKK && make && echo MAKEOOKK && make install && echo INSTALL_OK

Everything seemed ok.

But I cant chose the new driver (and yes, the printer should be supported in the new driver. "Epson Stylus Photo 950")
The reason why I'm doing this (and Joe47 to I assume) is to get the "Print CD" function.

Someone please give us a hint.

Some packages
2.6.12-1.1447_FC4smp
cups-1.1.23-15.1
cups-libs-1.1.23-15.1

gimp-print-4.2.7-7
gimp-print-utils-4.2.7-7
gimp-print-plugin-4.2.7-7

gutenprint directories:
/usr/local/include/gutenprint
/usr/local/include/gutenprintui
/usr/local/include/gutenprintui2
/usr/local/lib/
/usr/local/lib/gutenprint/5.0.0-rc1
/usr/local/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES/
/usr/local/share/gutenprint
/usr/share/foomatic/db/source/driver/
/usr/share/foomatic/db/source/opt/

hmmm... I'm a bit ashamed.... I tried to read the README

and did this:
[root@fdc-l020 gutenprint-5.0.0-rc1]# make uninstall
[root@fdc-l020 gutenprint-5.0.0-rc1]# make clean
[root@fdc-l020 gutenprint-5.0.0-rc1]# ./configure --with-cups && echo CONFIGOOKK && make && echo MAKEOOKK && make install && echo INSTALL_OK

and oh, I installed cups-devel also b4 doing the above.

But I still cant chose the driver under "Printer Configuration"
