Question Prelink maxxing cpu

I have a strange thing happening here.
Randomly ( once after 1 hour uptime, once after 2, once after 15 minutes )
"Nice" processes max my cpu, and hold it there. CPU temps start to rocket
upward. Checking the running processes I see prelink is taking all cpu time.

Prelink is set to lowest priority, and to play nice, but it refuses to give up when
myself or the system demands the cpu. I am wondering if anyone else has
seen this.

Me too! A big concern. By the system monitor:

prelink (system_u:system_r:cromd_t) /usr/sbin/prelink -av -mR -f

A similar thread at fedoraforum.org :

http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46294

Apparently this is a utility that periodically lables files for better access later. Should we just then just let it run its course? Should this be tolerated or its CPU usage managed better?
