Please help me with floppy and mount command?
I have installed Fedora 11 on my main computer and my floppy drive doesn't work. It says you must specify file type.
Do any of you linux experts know how to fix this.
It probably says "you must specify a filesystem type", doesn't it?
Floppy drives are usually formatted with a fat (msdos sort of) filesystem of some sort. Therefore, if you're trying to mount a floppy disk in the drive, you'd want to specify the vfat filesystem, or perhaps fat16 or fat32. You'd need to check the man page for the mount command to see other options for the fat filesystem.
If I'm off target here and have misunderstood the problem, please enlighten us as to exactly what's going on, and include exact copies of the error messasge.
Also, in the future, do not use a thread title like "Help Me!!" because people will not bother to look at your question, because they have no clue what they might find there.
