Percent bar appears when mouse is moved

I've just installed Fedora 17 with KDE and all is well.

If I do not use the mouse or keyboard for a few minutes, and then move the mouse, a small window appears in the lower centre of the screen for about a second.

It contains a monitor icon on the left, a percentage, and a progress-type bar.

What is it, and why am I seeing it?

Thanks
Jim

It is the screen brightness indicator. You are seeing it because the display is dimmed after some period of inactivity and lit up when activity is detected. To activate it you can use the battery applet : click on it, and move the slider.

Thanks. I might just get rid of it then since the laptop I'm using has no screen to dim.
