pda won't work with Evolution in Fedora
I'm having trouble using Evolution with my Sony Clie PEG-SJ22 pda. I've got the pilot settings set as /visorbackup localbasedir, MyPilot as pilot name, got the ID # from the pda, cradle as Device name, /dev/ttyUSB1 as Port, usb as device Type, Backup is enabled, Eaddress, Ecalendar, & E todo are all set as synchronize, File is enabled. My log looks like this after I try to connect Evolution and the pda;

No you don't need an fstab entry for this.

If I'm not wrong, the kernel is trying to load the visor.o module (driver) which should be in the /lib/modules/<kernel release>/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/visor.o. I have no problem with my Sony TG50 using the same visor driver before but I couldn't help much in your case since I'm on kernel 2.6.0 right now..

I have the same problem. Googling for the "error 110" brought me to this thread. It seems to be unique to Clie's so far. I have an SJ22, and my motherboard is using a VIA USB host. Running Fedora Core, and 2.4.22-1.2140.nptl
The visor module is loaded, and when I hit the hotsync button on the Clie, it will show up as a USB device if I lsusb. I've tried /dev/usb/ttyUSB00|1 and /dev/ttyUSB00|1 My error seems a bit different from mohapi's though. Here's what happens in my messages log when I hit the HotSync button, and let it time out with error. I've no problem using my Clie TG50 with the old kernel (2.4) and the new kernel (2.6) .. so I guess this problem most probably unique to some Clie models .. anyway, my mobo is using VIA chipset too ..

I found a user who said it was working for him with RH7 & RH8, but he upgraded to Fedora and it stopped working.
I've installed the 2.6.1 kernel rpm. The machine is running, but gpilotd segfaults. Still trying to track that down. And /var/log/messages isn't reporting anything when I try a hotsync. And I had to modprobe visor manually. gpilotd segfaults, seems very similar with what I was getting before .. have you check that your /dev/pilot is linked correctly to /dev/ttyUSB1? And the permission of /dev/ttyUSB1 should allows you to read/write to it?

How do I link /dev/pilot to /dev/ttyUSB1? Is it " ln -s /dev/ttyUSB1 /dev/pilot" ?

The first time I set it up, I have the permission set to user rw .. and when it does the first correct sync, it changed to the one as is now .. so, yes, change the permission to allow user to rw on that device ..

My next question would be; " Does evolution automatically find my pda when I run a hotsinc on it and if not,how do i tell the two to hookup? I just answered that. It seems to be working. I synced, it gave info to Evolution's calendar and all hopefully will remain well.
