OS missing after Installation
Hi,
I tried to do an install of Fedora Core 2 today, on a system with an AMD K6 III processor and a 4 Gb hard drive. The install seemed to go ok, though it took over 2 hours. When the system rebooted, however, it came up with "no operating system". I don't get this. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Steve |
Your MBR got borked. Boot off the install CD#1 and choose rescue mode. Then follow the directions to reinstall lilo on the MBR.

Missing OS
Hey, bash,
I tried several times to reinstall the boot loader; no good (the default for Core 2 is grub). I then tried several times to reinstall Core 2. No good. I've noticed that the drive is starting to make a few odd noises, so mebbe the problem is it's starting to fail. Anyway, I'm going to shelf this project until I can get a new hard drive, I think. I appreciate the help! Thanks again, Steve |
