Okay I finally got Fedora installed properly but have a huge problem.
 

When I boot to it I can't see anything because my video cards are newer than the onboard Fedora Nvidia driver.

I have two 7800 GTs in SLI and can't see anything. My question is how do I upgrade the driver from a text mode or something? Is there a way to make a bootable CD with the driver on it or something? Any quick help = GREATLY appreciated.

add livna as a yum repository and install their nvidia rpm's through yum. check docs at http://rpm.livna.org/livna-switcher.html

So this can be done without actually running the gui right?

of course, this is linux.

Okay I tried what it said in the readme "yum install kernel-module-nvidia-glx" and it says something to the effect of nothing to do. I assume I did something wrong. Can you make it extremely easy for me and tell me exactly what to type into the terminal to get it to work PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE. :cry:

you probably haven't added livna as a yum repo like i already said you needed to. the main page of ropm.livna.org details what you need to do.

But all I succeeded in doing was losing the yum.conf file to yum.conf.bak so I need to rename it I assume. This crap is hard man.

Okay I tried the steps again and followed them to a T and it still doesn't work plus it added a new kernel so I am all like woah I can't do crap. :(

I guess I will just wait till my Linux friend comes over to teach me.

I was wondering how can I make Grub automatically boot to Windows over Fedora like it does now if I don't hit a key.

Well that should be a bit easier, you have to edit the /boot/grub/grub.conf file where it says
"default #" where # is probably 0 assuming core is the first operating system on the list. If windows is the second listing change 0 to 1.
While I'm at it if you coment out "Hidden menu" like so "# hidden menu" the menu will be visible first thing instead of having to "hit any key". The number in "timeout" is the delay in seconds before it boots if you don't hit a key.

Well once I boot I will be sure to edit the damn file lol.

Also I want to know where it installs the boot loader because I am going to reinstall Fedora again and try those steps one last time and don't want to delete the bootloader through Partition Magic.

what hardware would that be? unless it's a wireless card, i bet money that it does

Ahh, you meant the cards... it seems that since the end of last year the stock nvidia drivers have supported SLI farily well. I know nothing about mind... google keeps taking me to this article http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...item=338&num=1 which isn't massively technical but shows it was working great. this laregly goes back to the livna repo stuff again, and if it doesn't work explain in detail what does happen and also show us the contents of your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (or rather, and lines in it containing "(EE)")
