Red face Non-secure network services not starting

I've just completed installation of Fedora Core 6, and the machine is hanging off the network - everything looks fine, boot looks good, pings OK, etc. I've turned off the Firewall and SELinux set to permissive. However, can't connect with telnet or remote desktop using xdmcp. I don't seem to have a xinetd file to use, and the configuration services tool doesn't seem to be much help.

I can connect using ssh.

Need help. Thanks.

FC doessn't use xinetd, but just use chkconfig (chkconfig --list and chkconfig <service> on). Can you start the telnet service from an ssh session?

Sorry, but don't have an FC machine up at the moment to check details
