No way to quit Fedora 17

Hello there I just installed Fedora 17 on a Eee-Pc 701 seems to work ok but there is no quit menu. Can some one give me the command line so I can switch off this little computer off. Cheers Frankie.

What do you mean the command line = Terminal or the command ?
The command it is self sudo shutdown now or sudo shutdown -h now

Well, "sudo shutdown" is not the default way to shutdown a fedora machine: if you click on your user name in top right corner while pressing the ALT (or LEFT-SHIFT or LEFT-CTRL I don't remember try all of them) key, at the end of the menu, will appears the option "Shut down" (or something similar) in bold characters.

ALT & arrow right works. Thanks for your help as well fedora runs so well. Groovy.

what do you mean no quit

from gnome
system / shutdown
For KDE
the icon on the lower left ( where the MS Windows "start" is )
and
click on "leave" then "shut down"

or Gnome3
under your user name in the upper right corner
select logout and shut down

The Gnome 3.x interface in Fedora was designed to not turn off with a user logged in.

There are the basic 'hacks' like the alt key combination & a Gnome Plugin that brings the option back.
But by default if you log out, in the login screen there is the 'power' button in the top right with the option for Turn off
