No sound in fedora 20

I recently installed fedora and the sound isn't working.
It worked initially. But now it has stopped.
I googled some stuff but I couldn't understand much
Here's some stuff I did that I could understand.
"alsa-info --no-upload"
command returned this

As much as I could understand pulseaudio and jack aren't running,, and sound card is recognised by alsa. I removed the advanced info text from the file because I couldn't post a post more than 3000 characters long

"alsamixer" outputs to this
Quote:

/usr/bin/pulseaudio: error while loading shared libraries: /lib64/libpulsecore-5.0.so: file too short
ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

cannot open mixer: Connection refused
The only operation I performed in between working state and non working state was yum update.

I have also made a post about update not getting complete,, but that was a different issue. I mentioned it because it mite be of use if its related. Here's the link http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...te-4175526662/

What to do?
Thank you in advanced :)

Sometimes your video card vendor will include a digital sound interface on their card. But your system's motherboard has another sound interface (analogue).

Verify that the correct card was chosen as default. If your connections to the computer for sound were not plugged in, the boot process will assume that it should use a dummy interface.

System Tools -> sound icon. Explore. You may hve to reboot your system if you are transitioning from dummy soundmmmmmcard to analogue.

The gstream player was installed incorrectly and also pulseaudio wasn't working how it should have.
problem fixed now,, it took a lot of time but was done..
thank you!

fedora has had a ongoing hit or miss bug
click on the sound icon
and UNMUTE IT

the bug is that it might install with sound set to "mute"
