If I understand you correctly, you want to use your CD-Rom drive as a soundcard? This is not possible (afaik) due to the CD-Rom drive not accepting audio input. It seems odd to me that no-one considered that possibility when they designed CD-Roms, since they would already have digital-analog conversion hardware and you could just send it a 44.1Khz bitstream, but that's the way it is. Perhaps this would have made the device far too complicated? Have to ask an EE
