no mouse control in kvm?

Hey guys I just got kvm installed and I'm having an issue. In both windows and DSL I can see the mouse but my touchpad on my laptop doesn't control it. I was wondering if there was another thing I had to pass throught the command line to get it working.

Thanks,

Nomb

Well not sure if this is the right way but passing:
-usb -usbdevice tablet
through the command line seems to get it to work. And on top of that it makes it seemless so you don't have to have the window 'capture' the mouse.

Next questions:

I am running my windows off of a usb external hdd. It is very slow. Not sure if this is Qemu/Kvm or the fact that I'm going over USB.

Would USB slow it down?

For anyone following this thread I made a few changes.

#1. I moved the image from the USB HDD to the actual HDD.

and

#2. Instead of using the actual windows cd I made an iso and am installing off that.

After making these two changes It is installing a little quicker. Not normal speed but atleast it is quicker.

I am using KVM with the .20 kernel. I'd hate to see qemu without it. There is also a -smp option I haven't tried. I'm not sure if it tells the guest OS to use 2 processors or if it allows Qemu/KVM to use both. I wish I knew of a way to set affinity in linux and tell it to use both instead of alternating between the two. I have also thought about changing the niceness level up to a higher priority.

Any comments would be great.
