no boot option fedora-winXP

i'm new to linux!

OK,
I've gone through the installation of Fedora Core 1 OK...
in the boot loader config menu during installation I chose
DOS to be the default OS (this might matter, I guess).

I was expecting that when I reboot the machine after the installation
I would get a menu with a choice of OS to load. This does not happen -
winXP loads with no option in sight.

Granted, I might have done something silly during config, but
I did the best I could.

Can anyone give advice for fixing/handling this issue?

Thanks!!

you need to configure grub yourself during install, don't let the pc do it for you. In grub, you can specify which operating systems you would like to choose from at boot up.
You need to specify the location, eg. /dev/hda1
and then give that option a name eg. windows or fedora

silvercastle,
thanks for the reply. my question is HOW to do that? how do
I get to the point of configuring GRUB? should I re-install
everything.

cheers.

j0ntar,
hint hint what? I hate the ones that installed something
yesterday and now feel superior and try to put down the
newbies to feel good...
anyway, can't avoid them in news groups.
