newbie: How to choose wireless networks in FC4 with gnome
Hey, I'm new, and I just installed fedora core 4 on my laptop with gnome. it picked up my ethernet jack as eth0 and my wireless card as eth1. I activated eth1 through desktop~>system settings~>network and it picked up a wireless network and I am online.
The problem is that I cannot for the life of my figure out to choose WHICH wireless network I am on. It picked up my neighbors, and I am going through his right now, and I have no idea how to get it to go through my own. Any ideas? Or just how can I see which wireless networks my computer is picking up at all? |
Hi,
"iwlist" from the console will show you a list of all available wireless networks. I've never used FC4, but here's an app you might like to have a look at: wlassistant. It's easy to use, and should help you sort your problem out soon. ;) -jk Ps. Welcome to LQ! ;) |
