if you've already entered the ip addresses etc, then there is nothing to do. I assume of course that you've actaully already tried using the connection and it's failed? if so show us the output of "/sbin/ifconfig" and "/sbin/route -n" for a start. Also what hardware are you using for the net? if you have an ethernet connection to a device, then the username and password should be on the router, not the client pc...

thanks for ur reply dude... hey i have not yet connected to net.. see i'l tel u exactly wat i did.. i started with settings>network devices>... then jus added a new network device.its realtek ethernet device at eth0.. then i activated it..on the mean while i entered the ip address, subnet mask, gateway, and prinmary n secondary DNS...
i am using broadband...i have to enter my username n password to connect to the internet.in windows i get tat connection window where i can enter my username n password to connect internet... similarly in case if i am using a dialup modem.. then i can use KPPP to connect to internet... but i am using a router n ethernet to connect to the internet...so where wud i enter the username n password if my realtek ethernet is my active device... n if u still want,,i can post my configuration details...
