need help with intel 865 video

Hi, guys. I run fc5:

Code:
fedora 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp #1 SMP
I've this video:

Code:
agpgart: Detected an Intel 865 Chipset.
I also have the driver loaded (I think):
Code:
[root@fedora ~]# lsmod | grep ^i
i915                   22465  1
however, glxgears full screen is giving me this:

Code:
[ig@fedora ~]$ glxgears
2056 frames in 5.0 seconds = 411.028 FPS
2057 frames in 5.0 seconds = 411.380 FPS
758 frames in 5.0 seconds = 151.397 FPS
178 frames in 5.0 seconds = 35.468 FPS
184 frames in 5.0 seconds = 36.735 FPS
186 frames in 5.0 seconds = 37.031 FPS
185 frames in 5.0 seconds = 36.838 FPS
(the sudden drop is when I maximized the window)

I also show this:
Code:
[ig@fedora ~]$ glxinfo | grep Open
OpenGL vendor string: Tungsten Graphics, Inc
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 865G 20050225 x86/MMX/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 6.4.2
OpenGL extensions:
[ig@fedora ~]$
[ig@fedora ~]$ glxinfo | grep -i direct
direct rendering: Yes
[ig@fedora ~]$
Does that mean I'm not using the hardware acceleration? Because it does run pretty slow, like the applications get "painted" on the screen with a noticable lag.

Can anybody help in forcing the system to use Intel's drivers?

TIA!

but that DRI stuff seems to be more for openGL right? I just need basic app load, quit, minimize/maximize etc. I don't play games or code openGL.

I810Gtt-0.2-4.src.rpm (i cant post the direct link, try to google it)

this was an answer before the 2.6.30 (vanilla) kernel starts to not use /proc/ksyms file.

"Make" gives me following messages:
grep: /proc/ksyms: Нет такого файла или каталога
grep: /proc/ksyms: Нет такого файла или каталога
grep: /proc/ksyms: Нет такого файла или каталога
awk: cmd. line:1: fatal: cannot open file `/proc/ksyms' for reading (Нет такого файла или каталога)
KERNEL_VERSION=2.6.30
KERNEL_VERSION_MAJOR=2.6
Something wrong with detection of KERNEL_VERSION?
Please check Makefile and report bug
KERNEL_VERSION_MAJOR=2.6
agpgart.o only available for 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 kernels exit -1
You need the /proc file system
Reconfigure kernel and say Yes to CONFIG_PROC_FS
make: *** [sanity] Ошибка 255

PS Yes i am from Russia...
If anybody knows how to fix Makefile or smthg. Say me please (you can post me directly at remort [at] mail.ru).
PSS I810Gtt-0.2-4.src.rpm works fine over a 2.6.18 native centos kernel...
